New Year's Eve
Well, Christmas was a hit with the grandkids. Except the ANTS didn't arrive for the ant farm! Poor Jake. He got a blob of Jelly from Grandpa and no ants! LOL. He'll get them soon. He got a million other things, so he was happy.
It's New Year's Eve day. Nothing scheduled for tonight. Maybe the Slugout or Back Street Tavern. Maybe home. Scared of the Farmington Gestapo!
Oh, well, I'll post after the "celebration"?

Ahhh Christmas shopping...
I used to be terrible at Christmas shopping. I'd wait til the day or night before. Rush in and pick stuff out that was terrible and end up feeling guilty that I'm not like the people who do theirs on Labor Day!
Well, thank you internet! (And also my friend jestsetgirl4 in cyberspace.) Now I (she) does it a couple of weeks before and UPS/FedEx/DHL bring them to my house. Christ, I feel like I'm having Christmas when the trucks beep, beep into my driveway.
Best gift this year: Ant Farm! This is for one of my grandchildren. (Ants sold separately, lol!) I really want to plague my daughter LOL. The ants haven't arrived yet. By the way, I do I keep the ants alive between now and Christmas? What the hell do they eat?

Slower than slow......
Boy, I wish I were more persistent! The blogger.com is a great site and makes it very easy to blog, but I keep putting it off. Look at the lapse between my posts. Terrible isn't it. What do I have to say anyway?
Actually, I could say a lot but I'm scared someone might actually read it. It's Dec. 15 and it's cold and very dry in Maine. The dew point is 0 (zero) and the temp this AM was 2 degrees. Why do we live in this climate?
Oh, about the blogger thing... how do the people who post comments send ads? Annoying. You have to type that weird letter thing in the comment section to post. So do these a**holes actually take the time to go to random blogs and cut and paste ads and the type the word thing? IS it some computer program thing? I don't know but it is mean spirited.
I'm going to try to blog more. (Yeah! Right!)

Maine
I live in Maine. As you come into Maine from New Hampshire sign says "Maine... The way life ought to be." (or is it "should") Well, that's BS unfortunately. (By the way, did you know of the 48 contiguous states Maine is the only state with ONE state as a neighbor. All the other states have more than one state on its boarder.)
Anyway, Maine is beautiful, clean and pretty much unpopulated. But the state government is way overpowering and tries to control the way you live. Legislating lifestyles is pretty much a lost cause. Smoking laws, helmet and seatbelt laws, etc. etc. Why does the government intrude so much in the way you live?
The intention is good, but as always they go way to far. It seems to me that "Big Brother" is getting more and more in your face. the 50's and 60's were a seminal change in the way people voiceed their opinions abd the freedom to do so made us a remarkable country and forced a change in government. Then slowly but surely we seemed to lose one little freedom after another. 9/11 brought on the Partiot Act and huge changes ensued.

Well here I go
I keep reading random Blogs and find it very interesting in the first line or two or I'm outta there. Is anyone going to read this, "Jim's Blog"? Well we shall see mister!
On blogs, I hate it when...
On blogs, I hate it when...
- they dont use caps or punctuation correctly.
- OR THEY TYPE IN ALL CAPS
- people assume that the reader has read every single post for the days when they were using a Commodore 64 (do you even KNOW what that is?)
- Use a lot of pictures
- and when they rant and rant and rant (like I am, he he)
Ok that's a start. Hey this isn't so hard. I've got a lot on my mind and not enought time!
Politics, religion and science are my favorite topics and I like debating the opposite side of what I really believe because it stimulates the thinking process.
Oh, Oh... see I have to go now and can't even finish this stupid blog.
More later!
